These terms cover use of Palanca at https://www.givepalanca.com. By creating a project, writing a letter, or submitting a phone number, you agree to them. This is a product description, not formal legal advice.
The service
Palanca lets an organizer collect letters for someone and prepare a hardcover book for print. Contributors write through a private link. Printing and shipping are fulfilled by Lulu. Palanca does not guarantee a print date or carrier delivery time.
Your content
You keep ownership of letters you write. You grant Palanca permission to store them, show them to the organizer, render them into a book PDF, and send that file to Lulu for the print job the organizer requested. Do not submit content you do not have the right to share.
Accounts
Organizers sign in with Clerk. You are responsible for activity on your account. The public contribute form does not require an account.
Email and SMS
If you submit your email, we may send transactional mail about that project (invite or reminder). Marketing email is optional and off unless you check the box.
If you submit your mobile number on a Palanca form and agree to SMS, you consent to receive automated transactional texts from Palanca about that project. Examples: a link to write your letter, a reminder before collection closes. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of writing a letter or buying a book.
Acceptable use
Do not use Palanca to harass anyone, send spam, or collect contact information to message people who did not opt in. Do not enter someone else’s phone number to subscribe them to texts.
