SMS from Palanca is optional. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
Palanca (“we,” “us”) helps people collect letters and print them as a hardcover book. This page explains what we collect and why. It is written for how the product works today. It is not formal legal advice.
Who we are
Palanca is operated at https://www.givepalanca.com. Questions: hello@givepalanca.com.
Information we collect
- Account. Name and email if you sign up (Clerk).
- Project. Book title, recipient name and email, due date, and shipping address when you prepare a print packet.
- Letters. Author name, author email, letter text, and optional marketing opt-in from the public contribute form.
- Phone number. When you type your mobile number on a Palanca form and agree to texts, we store it to send transactional SMS (invite links, letter reminders, print updates).
How we use it
We use this information to run your book project, send invite and reminder messages you asked for, print and ship through Lulu, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.
Text messages
If you provide a mobile number on our website and agree to SMS, we may text you about that Palanca (for example a link to write a letter or a reminder). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not text numbers collected without that consent.

How long we keep it
We keep project and letter data while the book is being collected, printed, or as needed to support an order. You can ask us to delete your email or phone from messaging lists at hello@givepalanca.com.
Your choices
You can decline marketing email on the letter form (unchecked by default). You can reply STOP to SMS. Organizers can remove or restore letters from their project.
